Recent work an acclaimed production of Streetcar Named Desire performed in American Sign Language with voice interpretation at Deaf West Theater. La Vine is a founding director of Edgemar Center for the Arts and she is Sandra's sister. Deborah is on the faculty of CalArts.

Sandra and I saw this play on 8/3/02 - is just great. The acting by Sam Anderson is superb and this very small - about 50 seat theater allows you to really be immersed in their work. The set designed by Desma Murphy wraps around the audience and is rich in texture adds so much to the this compelling period and story. Even though the director, Deborah Lavine is Sandra's sister, this is by far one of her best plays that I have seen. Its a steal at $20 - don't miss it. df
